Goals & Objectives: At the completion of this conference the resident should have a thorough understanding of the evaluation and basic understanding of management of orbital trauma including

  • Midfacial fractures
  • Orbital fractures
    •  Zygomatic fractures
    •  Orbital apex fractures
    •  Orbital roof fractures
    •  Medial orbital fractures
    •  Orbital floor fractures
  • Intraorbital foreign bodies
  • Orbital hemorrhage
  • Traumatic visual loss with clear media

Assignment: Please read Chapter 6: Orbital Trauma in the BCSC Orbits, Eyelids and Lacrimal System Section. In addition, it will be helpful if you read pages 23-33 in Chapter 2: Evaluation of Orbital Disorders
