Refraction of light

Date:
03/10/2010 - 7:00am - 8:00am
Location:
9th floor conference room
Faculty:
Dr Amy Nau
Conference Series:
Optics

The ways that light rays pass through media other than air will be discussed. Principles of refraction and relevant formulas will be reviewed. You should be able to calculate amount of light reflected from a surface, amount transmitted, and do problems that deal with how light is reflected through media , calculate incident and emergent angles and locate the apparant positions of objects that are in substances other than air.  Please review the powerpoint presentation and complete the accompanying problem set prior to class.
